James Ferguson is the Pastor and founder of the Breaking New Ground Ministries. He is a native Houstonian.. As a “preachers’ kid” he was raised in the church and has been playing the guitar since the age of six. He accepted his calling in October of 2007 under the leadership of Superintendent R.W. Fuller Pastor of Lorraine St. C.O.G.I.C. October 2016, he was ordained to Pastor. He started the ministry as an outreach for Texas Dept. of Corrections and from there Breaking New Ground Ministries was birthed. 

Pastor James Ferguson has been married to Co-founder Phillis Ferguson for over thirty-seven years. They have three wonderful children and eight grandchildren.

Pastor Ferguson is enthusiastic to produce a spirit-filled atmosphere where believers can accomplish the important skills and tools, establish the right attitude, and learn Godly information for kingdom growth. He is passionate to compel the people of God to go higher in prayer, faith, giving, worship, service, and praise.

Lady Phillis Ferguson “Lady P," is  a wife, a mother, a grandmother, and a Servant Leader for The Lord. She has a Bachelor’s degree in theology and has been serving as a licensed minister for fourteen years.

She works for the education system. She loves the Lord and serving others. She works very closely with Pastor Ferguson.  She has served as a youth teacher, counselor and as the leader in other departments where leadership roles were vacant. She continues to work side by side with Pastor Ferguson in teaching and serving the members of “BNG Ministries.”
